How the Number of Cars in Kyiv Has Increased en

As of September 2021, the number of cars in Kyiv reached 1.06 million, which is 1.7 times more than in 2015 (620,000 cars). As Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported, 60% of the cars belong to Kyiv residents, 30% to suburban residents, and another 10% are in transit.

Every day, the capital’s driver spends 45 minutes idling in traffic jams – that’s almost 9 days a year. Therefore, Kyiv is creating a system (supposedly, if we believe the city hall) of intercepting parking lots – work continues on the first phase of constructing 12 parking lots for nearly 3,500 cars. Five of these parking lots are already operational at Vydubychi, Akademmistechko, Krasny Khutor, Glushkov Avenue, and Syrets.

Let us remind you, traffic jams in Kyiv turned out to be among the largest in the world.
