Dacia’s next big novelty is not a crossover at all

New crossover-estate from Dacia

In 2026, Dacia plans to expand its model lineup by adding a compact crossover-estate. This model, which currently has the codename C-Neo, will be positioned above the Dacia Jogger class and will directly compete with the successful Skoda Octavia Combi in the European market.

Technical features and platform

The new model will be built on the same CMF-B platform as the Dacia Bigster, which will allow it to inherit the benefits of modular architecture. Among the main features:

Exterior and design

The prototype has already undergone testing under camouflage in Southern Europe and demonstrates the proportions of a classic estate. The front of the car has received angular headlights and a square bumper, giving it a sharper look compared to conventional family estates.

The hood repeats the characteristic lines already familiar from the Duster and Bigster models, while the rest of the body has cleaner and more aerodynamic surfaces. Light protection of the wheel arches and increased ground clearance indicate the model’s crossover purpose.

Interior and practicality

The side panels are adorned with clear lines, and conventional door handles emphasize the practical nature of the brand. The roofline smoothly transitions into a rear spoiler located above the slanted glass and compact LED lights.

The long rear end and the shape of the tailgate suggest a significant trunk volume, making the model particularly attractive from a practicality standpoint. Unlike the seven-seater Jogger, the C-Neo will offer a standard five-seat configuration.

Technology and equipment

The car’s interior is expected to feature the YouClip system for attaching accessories, durable upholstery fabrics resistant to wear, and physical switches to disable driver assistance systems when needed.

Engines and powertrains

The model will offer the same range of powertrains as the Duster and Bigster:

  • Petrol engines
  • LPG versions
  • Mild hybrid systems
  • Full hybrid variants

All of them are based on the turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine from the Renault Group.

Competitive environment

The new Dacia estate will enter into competitive struggle not only with the Skoda Octavia Combi, but also with models such as the VW Golf Variant, Seat Leon Sports Tourer, Toyota Corolla Touring Sports, and Hyundai i30 Tourer.

Interestingly, none of these competitors currently offer a crossover version that Dacia is preparing. The Skoda Octavia Scout and Ford Focus Active models have already been discontinued, which could give the Romanian brand additional advantages in the market.

The official presentation of the Dacia C-Neo is expected in the second half of 2026, which will give engineers additional time for final chassis tuning and improving ride comfort. The appearance of this model confirms the growing popularity of estates with crossover design elements, especially in the European market, where buyers increasingly value the combination of practicality and versatility. Dacia’s strategy, aimed at offering affordable cars with clearly defined advantages, may find a good response among buyers looking for an alternative to traditional estates.
