Next Generation Toyota Hilux Rumored to Debut in November

Expected Debut of the New Toyota Hilux

Toyota plans to introduce the updated Hilux pickup in Thailand as early as November this year. According to local media reports, the premiere will take place as part of the national Thailand Motor Expo, which will run from November 28 to December 10, 2025.

Exterior Changes and Technical Features

Previous photos and patent drawings indicate updated front and rear sections of the vehicle. Among the key changes are a more vertical radiator grille, narrower headlights, and the possible use of an LED strip connecting the optics. The wheel arches will receive massive black plastic cladding for protection and an aggressive look.

The central part of the body will remain almost unchanged, as will the chassis frame. Insiders report that Toyota has decided to keep the existing IMV platform instead of switching to the more modern TNGA-F used by the new Land Cruiser and the American Tacoma.

Interior Updates and Powertrain Prospects

Patent drawings confirm the appearance of a digital instrument cluster and a modern tablet-style touchscreen for the multimedia system. This will provide the driver with a sense of novelty despite the retention of the basic structure.

Technical updates may include an electric power steering system to reduce fuel consumption and support modern ADAS systems. The existing 2.8-liter diesel engine with 201 hp has already received a 48-volt mild hybrid system, but a plug-in hybrid version is expected to appear in 2026.

Sources report that installing the 2.4-liter i-Force Max hybrid powertrain from the Tacoma could give the sporty GR Hilux version 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque

The company has also hinted at the presentation of a fully electric version by the end of this year.

Retaining the proven frame allows focusing on improving electronics and environmental characteristics. This approach demonstrates a balance between tradition and innovation, which is especially important for markets where reliability is valued above radical changes. The appearance of hybrid versions could significantly expand the model’s audience in the face of growing environmental requirements.
