Next Subaru Electric Vehicle Opens New Horizons

Subaru Prepares New Uncharted Electric Crossover

Subaru has announced the debut of the new Uncharted electric crossover for 2026, which will take place as early as next week. Preliminary data suggests it is a compact crossover that may be a version of the Toyota C-HR. If so, two battery options, three powertrains, and power up to 338 hp are expected.

The company has published a teaser image showing a distinctive rear-end design with a split spoiler, slim headlights, and a contrasting roof. Details remain unknown, but previous reports indicate joint development with Toyota.

The model promises to be “ready for your next adventure,” states the official Subaru announcement.

Technical Expectations

If the Uncharted is indeed based on the C-HR platform, it could receive a 77 kWh battery and an all-wheel-drive system with two motors. Such a configuration should provide acceleration to 60 mph in 5 seconds and a range of about 290 miles. In terms of dimensions, the model will be more compact than the Solterra—approximately 178 inches in length.

Subaru has been actively developing its electric direction lately, and the Uncharted will be the next step in this strategy. Previous collaboration experience with Toyota has already produced the Solterra, so a similar approach for the new model seems logical. Design features and technical specifications could make this model an interesting alternative in the compact electric crossover market.
