New Xiaomi YU9 model: power and autonomy
Xiaomi continues to expand its automotive portfolio after the successful launch of the SU7 sedan. The company, which is already a leader in the electronics market, is quickly gaining momentum in China’s automotive industry. Demand for their new products exceeds all expectations.
A prototype of the third model under the code name “Kunlun” has already appeared on social networks. It will be a full-size SUV positioned as a competitor to the Li Auto L9 and Aito M9.
Technical features
The YU9 will differ from its predecessors with a hybrid powertrain.
According to sources, the model will get a 1.5-liter turbo engine paired with two electric motors, which together can deliver about 400 hp.
The electric motors will provide a range of up to 200 km, and considering the fuel tank, the total range may exceed 1500 km.
Externally, the YU9 will have classic SUV proportions, different from the lower-profile SU7 and YU7. Although the camouflage hides design details, the model is expected to inherit the brand’s signature features, such as bright LED headlights.
Xiaomi’s market success in the automotive sphere has been a surprise to many analysts. The rapid expansion of the model range indicates the company’s serious intentions to establish itself in this segment. The technical approach is especially impressive – combining powerful electric motors with traditional internal combustion engines, which allows meeting the different needs of customers.
