Hyundai is Preparing a Powerful Tucson N
Hyundai plans to release a high-performance version of its popular Tucson crossover. According to sources, the Tucson N model will receive a hybrid powertrain with an output of about 300 horsepower. The use of an electric axle for rear-wheel drive is also possible.
Hyundai N representative Joon Park stated:
“We are not limiting ourselves only to electric vehicles; we will continue to develop internal combustion engine cars as well.”
This indicates that the brand will continue to develop both electric and traditional models.
Technical Features
The Tucson N is expected to receive an upgraded 1.6-liter turbocharged engine combined with a hybrid system. For comparison, the standard hybrid version of the Tucson has 231 hp and a fuel consumption of 35 miles per gallon. The new version will have significantly more power and likely unique characteristics for its class.
Previous Hyundai models, such as the Elantra N, already demonstrate high performance – up to 286 hp. The Tucson N is set to become even more powerful, making it a serious competitor in its segment. Developers emphasize the need to preserve the car’s sporting character, even when using hybrid technologies.
Despite the general trend towards electrification, Hyundai continues to invest in the development of traditional engines. This could be beneficial for markets where electric vehicle infrastructure is not yet sufficiently developed. The Tucson N is expected to combine energy efficiency and high dynamic performance, making it an interesting option for fans of powerful crossovers.
