Kia Vision Meta Turismo Concept Nears Series Production
One of Kia’s most striking concepts of recent years is getting closer to reality. This car could fill the gap left by the Stinger — a model still talked about by enthusiasts. Although the electric Kia EV6 GT was meant to continue this legacy, it failed to convey the same energy that the sporty internal combustion engine sedan had.
Presentation at Milan Design Week
Kia first presented the Vision Meta Turismo concept in Korea last December and then brought it to Milan Design Week, where it was exhibited alongside other models. The car’s design is based on the brand’s “Opposites United” philosophy, already embodied in production models such as the EV9, EV4, and K4. All of them look closer to conceptual sketches than to traditional cars from a showroom.
Plans for Series Production
Karim Habib, Executive Vice President of Kia Global Design, spoke about the concept, hinting that it is not just a design exercise. He noted that the company has a genuine interest in creating such a model, although timelines remain uncertain.
“This is not a production car… at least not yet. We are still trying to make this a reality.”
Features of the Concept
Habib did not specify what exactly is needed to launch the Vision Meta Turismo into production. Obviously, Kia must justify the business viability of this project. Although the car could become the successor to the Stinger, it is slightly taller than a typical sedan and has a significantly more spacious cabin thanks to its fully electric powertrain.
Kia is particularly proud of how the concept emphasizes the driving experience. It is equipped with a joystick-style virtual gear shifter, reproduces engine sounds and vibrations characteristic of internal combustion engines. A GT Boost button and launch control system for maximum power are also provided. The concept allows the driver to adjust the powertrain response and suspension sensitivity, as well as choose several driving modes.
Additional Context
Despite the fact that the Kia Vision Meta Turismo remains a concept, its appearance at Milan Design Week indicates the company’s serious intentions. An electric sedan with an emphasis on the driving experience could become an interesting alternative to traditional sports cars. If Kia manages to realize this project, it will not only fill the gap left by the Stinger but also offer a new perspective on what a modern electric car for enthusiasts can be. It is worth noting that the market for electric sports sedans is actively developing, and the emergence of such a model from Kia could pose a serious challenge to competitors.
