DeLorean returns – the legendary car from the movie “Back to the Future” has received a successor. The model named Alpha5 will go on sale in 2024.
British businessman Stephen Wynne, who repaired and serviced old DeLorean DMC-12s, took up the task of reviving the brand. He pursued his dream for almost 30 years.
Like the DMC-12, the exterior design was executed at ItalDesign atelier, though the newcomer has little in common with its predecessor. The sharp edges have been replaced by smooth lines. However, the doors still open upwards, and the rear window retains the signature louvers.
Moreover, the new DeLorean Alpha5 is significantly larger – 5 meters in length and 2 meters in width. This allowed the coupe to become a four-seater. The interior features a modern virtual dashboard and a portrait touchscreen.
Moreover, DeLorean is now an electric car. It can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h, with a range of about 480 km.
