by In 2021, insurance cases most often occurred with cars of white, gray, and black colors. Experts analyzed that losses were rarest with cars of beige, yellow, and green colors.
The most common reason for requests from motorist clients is an accident. This accounts for 66.3% of all insurance cases under CASCO agreements. This is stated in the 2021 statistics of the insurance company “PZU Ukraine”. Accidents mostly occurred due to:
- violations of maneuvering rules
- exceeding safe speed
- not maintaining distance
- violations of intersection passage rules
- driving under the influence of alcohol
Among other reasons for requests are unlawful actions of third parties (6.71%). These include hooliganism, intentional damage to cars, etc. Most of these situations occurred in Kyiv and large cities. Damage to vehicles as a result of disasters (0.5%) ranks third in the number of insurance cases. Many occurred in Odessa after heavy rains in the summer of last year.
By region, the most requests were made during the year in Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, and Odessa regions. Among car brands, the leaders in the number of insurance cases are such brands:
- Renault
- Toyota
- Volkswagen/Skoda
The fewest requests came from owners of:
- Infiniti
- Jeep
- Fiat
- Honda
- Opel
As for the largest payout under CASCO agreements, it was made in the amount of 2.85 million UAH – for a truck MAN damaged in an accident.
