The American agency Bloomberg prepared a report on gasoline prices in different countries of the world. Based on this, they compiled a ranking of countries with the cheapest fuel.
So, the cheapest gasoline is in Venezuela – only 0.3 cents per liter. The second place is occupied by Iran (28 cents), and the third is Kuwait (35 cents). The Top-7 countries with the cheapest fuel also include Nigeria (41 cents), Egypt (43), Saudi Arabia and Malaysia (54 cents each).
In addition, Bloomberg experts compared not only gasoline prices but also its affordability taking into account salaries in the countries.
If we consider the average daily income, the list is somewhat different, but Venezuela is still a leader (although they earn only 92 cents a day on average).
- Venezuela – 306.66 liters of A-95 per daily wage;
- Kuwait – 233.5 l;
- Luxembourg – 211.7 l;
- USA – 205.1 l;
- UAE – 159 l;
- Australia – 137.5 l;
- Switzerland – 136 l;
- Ireland – 118.6 l;
- Saudi Arabia – 114.9 l;
- Canada – 110.8 l.
As for our country, it is not in the Bloomberg ranking (as well as hundreds of other countries). Although calculating these indicators is not difficult. A liter of A-95 gasoline in Ukraine costs on average 29.2 hryvnias or $1.09.
Considering the average official salary for June at 9141 hryvnias, a Ukrainian earns 304.7 hryvnias per day, and this is enough for 10.43 l. It’s easy to guess that with this indicator, we would be at the bottom of the ranking.
