Acura prepares to auction unique NSX Roadster from ‘The Avengers’ film
Acura will auction a unique NSX Roadster that appeared in the film ‘The Avengers’. This car will be sold next year, with all proceeds going to charity. The peculiarity of this specimen is that it was built on the basis of a 1991 model with over 252,000 miles on the odometer.
This NSX Roadster was specially developed for the film by the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles. The car’s body is handmade using resin and fiberglass, and it is also equipped with a lowered suspension, special seats, and exclusive 18-inch wheels. Although the car became popular after the film’s release, this did not lead to a significant increase in NSX sales.
The company plans to present this car at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering event on August 15th, where it will begin accepting preliminary bids for the auction.
The auction will take place during Monterey Car Week, which will also celebrate the 35th anniversary of the NSX model. In addition to the Roadster, other rare specimens, such as the 1995 NSX-R and the 1999 Zanardi Edition, will be on display at the exhibition. Guests will also be able to see the concept of Acura’s future electric crossover.
This auction will be part of a larger celebration of the brand’s history, but the exact amount that the charity organization may receive has not yet been disclosed. For collectors, this is a rare opportunity to purchase a movie car that has become part of pop culture.
