Tesbros Company Offers a Mirror Removal Kit for Tesla Cybertruck
Tesla Cybertruck owners who dislike the standard mirrors can now remove them using a special kit from Tesbros. This kit allows for a less traditional look of the electric car. However, before purchasing, it is worth checking whether the legislation of your state allows driving without mirrors — otherwise, you might get a fine instead of the expected aesthetic effect.
In many US states, vehicles must have both side mirrors, while in some, only one is sufficient. In states like Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, and Montana, where mirror requirements are not as strict, this kit can be an interesting solution for those who want to change the appearance of their Cybertruck.
How Does the Kit Work?
After removing the mirrors, holes remain in the doors, which Tesbros offers to cover using a stainless steel plate and ABS plastic. The company claims the construction withstands various climate conditions, including hot Arizona summers.
“The plate’s underside mimics that of the mirror and screws into place, securing it and ensuring it’s sturdy.”
The first 80 kits were made from stainless steel that Tesbros obtained from recycled Cybertruck doors. All of them have already been sold out. The company is currently developing a new version from aluminum and plans to release a plastic variant.
The price of the original kit was $299, which is quite a lot for two steel plates and plastic elements. Some users reported issues with the fastening, but Tesbros promptly replaced the defective parts.
Interestingly, Tesla initially presented the Cybertruck without mirrors, but serial models received them due to legislative requirements. The Tesbros kit allows for a return to the original concept, though not without risks. One can expect that similar modifications will become popular among brand fans who want to stand out on the road.
