It is necessary to bring to life this restomod BMW M6 with a V12 engine

Kizil Salim, the author of the 6-Series restoration project, offers a car with a V12 engine and wide-body styling. The brilliant design of his project, close to the TWR Supercat, combines motorsport elements with dramatic design. Although the likelihood of its realization is small, the project highlights the potential for future modifications of classics. Currently, the scene is illuminated by new trends in the restoration of classics and youngtimers with greater power, excellent handling, and updated styling that matches modern tastes. It seems that every week a new interpretation of old favorites appears, and the latest one is from self-taught designer Kizil Salim.

Known for his extravagant rendering style and a recent series of wild rebuilds, Salim has envisioned a heavily modified version of the BMW 6-Series E24, combining motorsport references. This project is inspired by a car known for racing against the BMW 635CSi in Group A back in the 1980s. However, unlike the rare unique TWR car, Saleem’s BMW vision will likely remain exclusively in the digital world, at least for now. With the exterior enhancements of the E24 by Saleem, things are serious. The classic silhouette is still recognizable, but the overall effect is much more aggressive thanks to the custom body kit.

The front of the car, resembling a sphere kit, features sinister LED headlights and a bulging hood with ventilation holes. It looks less like a gentleman’s car and more like something that wants to raise its fists for a fight. The side profile reveals massive widened fenders, and the rear end adds drama with an adjustable spoiler, tinted taillights, and a huge diffuser that could probably be used as a snowplow. The car sits on a set of HRE alloy wheels, a fitting choice given that the same brand was used on the TWR Supercat. The car’s stance is purposeful, to say the least, and hints that this BMW would feel more at home on the track than at a Sunday coffee car meet.

The BMW 6-Series E24 was produced from 1976 to 1989 and was offered exclusively with six-cylinder engines, even in the high-performance version. However, Saleem wanted something more prestigious for his digital project, imagining the car with a V12 engine. He didn’t delve deeply into details, but the M70 engine from the 750i and 850i seems like a natural choice. This, of course, assuming it actually fits without turning the engine bay into a very expensive game of Tetris. The car’s low stance hints at a heavily upgraded suspension.

Saleem didn’t share any interior renderings, but through the tinted windows, a pair of sports seats and a full roll cage can be seen. Clearly, the rear bench was removed to save weight. Although, practically, no one intended to crowd back there for a long journey. As mentioned earlier, the BMW 635-KS remains a spare-time project, with little chance of transitioning from pixels to pavement. However, the concept shows just how much potential the old 6-Series has when it falls into the right hands.

Whether this particular vision will be built or not, it’s easy to imagine that a few deep-pocketed enthusiasts might be inclined to take on such wild work.
