Israel Prepares for Possible Attacks: Electric Vehicles Are Being Removed from Ports
Israeli officials are ordering companies to prepare for the removal of electric vehicles from ports. The reason is the fear that Iranian missiles could trigger massive fires due to electric car batteries. Plans are underway to move the vehicles to open areas, away from critical infrastructure.
The conflict between Israel and Iran began over a week ago. Following an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear program, the latter responded by launching missiles and drones. The US also intervened by attacking the Al-Udeid base in Qatar, though this action was described as a “measured response”.
Why Have Electric Vehicles Become a Problem?
According to reports, Israeli ports such as Haifa and Ashdod have been ordered to remove electric vehicles. Haifa is the country’s busiest port, handling about 20 million tons of cargo annually. In the event of a missile hit, a fire among electric vehicles could be catastrophic.
The Port of Haifa confirms that the evacuation of electric vehicles is a precautionary measure to reduce risks.
Although the scenario of a large-scale fire is the worst-case option, Israeli authorities are already taking measures. The situation remains unpredictable, and the further development of events will depend on the actions of both sides of the conflict.
