Nobody is Buying the Electric Dodge Charger, So the Manufacturer Sharply Reduces Its Price

Prices for the Electric Dodge Charger Daytona are Being Lowered

Automakers usually raise prices on their models every year, but Dodge has done the opposite with the electric Charger Daytona for the 2026 model year. This model, which was supposed to mark the beginning of a new era of electric muscle cars, has undergone significant changes in its pricing policy due to low demand.

Sales Problems with the Electric Version

Dodge initially introduced the Charger Daytona in R/T and Scat Pack versions, but later decided to discontinue the R/T due to low demand. Thus, the only available electric version remained the Scat Pack at $64,995. Now its price will be reduced by 8.3%, indicating problems with the model’s popularity.

Interestingly, the Scat Pack offers 670 hp, while the R/T had only 496 hp, but that didn’t save the situation. Sources report that owners are already facing numerous problems, which further complicates sales.

Impact of Political Decisions on Pricing

The price reduction does not compensate for the loss of government incentives for electric vehicles. After Donald Trump’s return to the US presidency, the federal incentive program for electric cars, which provided a $7500 discount on leasing, was canceled. This makes purchasing the Charger Daytona less attractive for potential customers.

Comparison with Traditional Engines

The Scat Pack remains more expensive than the new Charger Sixpack version with a turbocharged six-cylinder engine, which starts at $54,995 and produces 550 hp. For fans of classic muscle cars, the Sixpack is an obvious choice, but for those who value maximum performance, the electric Scat Pack could be an interesting option, despite the higher price.

These changes point to a complex transition for automakers to electric vehicles, especially in a segment where traditional engines remain very popular. Dodge seems to be trying to adapt to market realities, but the success of this strategy will depend on whether they can convince buyers of the advantages of electric models.
