Nissan Reveals Nismo Concept for Tokyo Auto Salon
Nissan has disclosed details about its exhibit at the upcoming 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon, which includes a surprise from the Nismo division. During the event, taking place from January 9 to 11, a special concept car from Nismo will be presented, the first teaser image of which has already been published.
The announcement of this concept came just a day after Nissan promised to double its global lineup of sports cars. The only published photo allows only a glimpse of a part of the mysterious car’s rear end. Its design leaves room for speculation: it could be either a sports car or a coupe-style crossover.
Design Details of the New Concept
The horizontal rear taillights look quite production-ready and are mounted under a small spoiler. The vertical ventilation openings on the sharp edges of the rear fenders draw particular attention. The rear glass has a pronounced slope, and the body lines hint that it could be a hatchback.
In addition to the Nismo concept, other models will be presented at the Nissan stand in Tokyo, including the Fairlady Z, Leaf Autech, X-Trail Rock Creek, and March. This auto salon is traditionally an important event for showcasing new technologies and design directions of the Japanese auto industry.
The unveiling of this concept indicates Nissan’s active efforts to strengthen its sports identity and attract enthusiasts’ attention. The Tokyo Auto Salon often serves as a platform for debuting cars that shape the brand’s future design language, so expectations surrounding this premiere are high. Detailed information about the car’s technical specifications and concept is expected to be revealed directly during the exhibition’s opening.
