Nissan Juke Receives Electric Modernization

Overview of the New Model

Nissan provided the first look at the electric version of the Juke earlier this year through a darkened teaser. Now, new spy shots have captured the future electric crossover during testing on European roads. The prototype, camouflaged in black-and-white wrap, visually resembles the Hyper Punk concept.

Design and Exterior

Despite the camouflage, noticeable large headlights are visible, hidden behind masking stickers. A wide central grille with a clearly defined sensor is also seen. The windshield has a sharp incline and flows into an angular roof. The window line is compact, and the beltline rises smoothly upwards.

The front door handles appear to be flush-mounted with the body, while the rear ones are integrated into the upper door trim. The car is also equipped with aerodynamic wheels and thick side sills, which likely help conceal the battery pack.

Rear End and Technical Features

At the rear, the car has a tailgate with an angled rear window and a noticeable spoiler. The lighting is split: upper turn signals and large square brake lights with interesting graphics.

The Juke EV is expected to inherit many technical solutions from the updated Leaf and will use the same CMF-EV / AmpR Medium platform. This most likely means using a 52 kWh battery pack, providing the model with a range of over 436 kilometers according to the WLTP standard.

Drivetrain and Performance

There are also suggestions that the crossover will receive the base electric motor from the Leaf with 174 hp and 345 Nm of torque. Such a powertrain allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds, with a top speed of around 161 km/h.

Production and Company Plans

Nissan has not yet revealed many details about the future model but previously confirmed that the compact crossover will be introduced in fiscal year 2026. Its production will commence at the company’s plant in Sunderland alongside the Leaf model.

Teaser of the electric Nissan Juke

The appearance of the electric Juke is a logical step for Nissan in the context of the overall electrification strategy for its model range. This model could become a key player in the compact electric crossover market, especially in Europe, where the original Juke enjoyed significant popularity. Inheriting the technical base from the Leaf, which has already proven its reliability, could be a significant advantage in terms of customer perception. The success of this model will largely depend on the final price, exact range, and how well the designers managed to preserve the distinctive, bold style of the Juke in the electric era.
