Nissan Pathfinder Again Shows an Unusual Concept for the SEMA Show

Two Unique Nissan Pathfinder Projects Are Being Prepared for SEMA 2026

It hasn’t even been a year since the closing of last year’s SEMA auto show, and the first announcements for the 2026 show, which will take place in October, are already appearing. Two custom Nissan Pathfinder off-roaders are being prepared by renowned enthusiast and tuner Nicholas Sherr, also known as Nismo Nick. These projects are dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the popular SUV.

So far, only algorithm-generated teaser illustrations have been presented to the public, but Nick has also shared several photos of the actual cars that are in the process of being built.

Trackfinder: An Off-Roader for the Race Track

The first project is named Trackfinder. As the name implies, this family off-roader is being significantly reworked with an unlikely goal — to make it comfortable on a race track.

Nick will start by upgrading the 4.0-liter V6 engine, installing a supercharger from Z1 Off-Road. Exact power figures are not yet disclosed, but the tuner promises “a significant increase in power and performance.” The installation of a manual transmission is also planned.

In addition to updating the powertrain, the Pathfinder’s suspension will be completely reworked by LOJ Conversions. This will significantly lower the car’s ground clearance and improve its handling. Early renders also show that the Nissan will receive a set of custom wheel rims.

For this square SUV dreaming of the track, a number of visual changes are also being prepared. The front end will receive elements from the D41 Nissan Frontier pickup, and numerous lightweight carbon fiber parts across the body are also expected.

Off-Road Edition: Inspired by the First Generation

The second model heading to SEMA is the Nissan Pathfinder Remix. It draws inspiration from the first-generation Pathfinder and borrows several components from the same D41 Frontier.

The upgrades will be carried out by Z1 Off-Road, Hammerhead Armor, and NISMO, and they are all aimed at giving the off-roader significantly more serious off-road capability.

From the preview, it is clear that the car will receive an updated front end with an integrated winch, a custom hood, and noticeably increased ground clearance. The equipment list also includes a snorkel, LED spotlights, rock sliders, and a roof rack.

Nick has not yet revealed powertrain details, but the graphics on the side with the inscription “SE-V8” virtually confirm that an engine swap to a V8 is part of the plan.

These two projects clearly demonstrate how differently the same base model can evolve thanks to the enthusiasm and skill of tuners. They not only celebrate the Pathfinder’s anniversary but also show polar philosophies of car preparation: one for speed and asphalt, the other for conquering off-road terrain. Such extreme transformations have become a hallmark of SEMA, where technical ingenuity often crosses the boundaries of standard factory tuning, creating truly unique machines. Full details and the finished cars are expected to be presented directly at the show in the fall of 2026.
