Singer has introduced an updated version of the rare Porsche 911 Carrera SSE with a widened body.
Based on the 964 model, it features wide carbon fenders and a 4.0-liter flat-six engine producing 420 hp.
Buyers are offered a choice between a fixed or retractable rear wing – or even both options.
Since its founding over 15 years ago, Singer has inspired countless imitators but continues to find new ways to evolve. The new Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer received a naturally aspirated engine, reworked by Cosworth.
This project is based not on the standard 1980s 911 Carrera, but on the exclusive Super Sport Equipment (Carrera SSE) version. It combined the base 3.2-liter engine with widened fenders, larger spoilers, and suspension from the 930 Turbo.
Each of the 100 planned examples begins with a donor body from the 964 generation. After a complete disassembly, the body is reinforced using Williams Advanced Technologies techniques and fitted with carbon fiber wheel arches.
Instead of a turbocharged flat-six, a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with liquid cooling, 4-valve heads, and a variable valve timing system is installed. Developed jointly with Cosworth, the unit produces 420 hp, revs up to 8000 rpm, and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission for rear-wheel drive.
An open-gate shifter system, like in the DLS, is available, as well as numerous options: from pop-up headlights to the choice of rear wing type.
Owners of the original SSE mostly chose the fixed wing, but Singer’s clients can order both variants and change them at will.
The company published photos of two configurations: a blue road variant with an active wing and velvet seats, and an orange track variant with a large spoiler, carbon bucket seats, and a rear strut brace.
The price has not been announced yet, but it will certainly make the new 2025 911 look as affordable as a Mitsubishi Mirage.
