The New Acura RSX Will Test How Ready Fans Are for Change

Acura RSX Prototype: An Electric Crossover with a Sporty Character

Acura has introduced the prototype of the RSX electric crossover, which is set to become the brand’s first model on its own Honda Global EV platform. The coupe-like vehicle received a two-liter power unit, a sport suspension, and the new Asimo operating system. The production version is expected in the second half of 2026.

Design and Technologies

The prototype, shown during Monterey Car Week, showcases an updated design with camera-based mirrors, retractable door handles, and 21-inch wheels. The Propulsion Yellow Pearl color scheme with black accents and red Brembo brakes emphasizes the model’s sporty character.

Yasutake Tsuchida, Creative Director of Acura: “This car combines the sporty style of a coupe with aerodynamic efficiency, reflecting our new approach to design.”

Technical Features

Production will begin at the plant in Ohio, where the Integra model is already assembled. The RSX will occupy a position below the large ZDX, whose price starts at $64,500. The car will also be able to function as a mobile battery for energy storage.

The presentation of the production version is scheduled for 2026, but it is already clear that Acura is betting on a combination of sporty design and advanced electric technologies. This model could become an important step for the brand in the transition to electric vehicles, offering customers not just “green” transport, but a true driver’s experience.
