Origin of the Name and Concept
The Bentley Bentayga lineup has been expanded with a new special version called the Artenara Edition. This name originates from the village of Artenara, which is located at an altitude of 1,200 meters and is the highest settlement on the island of Gran Canaria. It is situated near the Roque Bentayga rock, and it was this formation that inspired the name of the entire Bentayga model range.
Exterior
The special version has a easily recognizable exterior with an updated Mulliner radiator grille in a double diamond style and 22-inch wheels with a painted grey and polished finish. The car also features special Artenara Edition badges, a unique welcome light projection, and accents painted in the body color instead of the usual brightwork elements.
Bentley showcases Mulliner’s creativity through special Bentayga versions dedicated to specific locations.
Interior and Color Options
For the Artenara Edition, eight specially selected exterior colors are offered, which are combined with a complementary three-color interior scheme. The bright cabin is also equipped with illuminated sill plates, and the instrument panel, seats, and door panels feature a motif of the Roque Bentayga rock.
Technical Specifications
Under the hood, two different engines are available. The first is a bi-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 542 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque. This allows the crossover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 290 km/h.
Customers can also choose a plug-in hybrid variant, which is equipped with a 3.0-liter engine and has a combined output of 462 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. It is noticeably slower: acceleration to 100 km/h takes 5.3 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 254 km/h.
The long-wheelbase version is available only with the V8 engine, while the standard model offers both powertrains.
Other Updates for the Model Range
In addition to introducing the Artenara Edition, Bentley announced a number of updates for the entire Bentayga range. These changes are minor but include a new “Dark Turquoise” paint color, as well as a new 23-inch Super Lux wheel, which is available as an option for the Azure, Artenara Edition, and Mulliner EWB versions.
Furthermore, the Bentley Connected Car service has become available in six new markets: Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, and New Zealand.
The introduction of the Artenara Edition underscores Bentley’s strategy of creating exclusive models that not only showcase high technology and luxury but also have deep cultural and geographical roots. Such limited series often become collectible items, enhancing the brand’s prestige and attracting the attention of the most demanding clients who value uniqueness and history. The expansion of the Connected Car package to new markets demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing a high level of service and integration with the digital environment for its car owners worldwide.
