New Special McLaren 750S
McLaren unveiled a unique car named Project Chromology 750S during Miami Art Week. This 750S Spider was created by the special MSO division in collaboration with British abstract artist Nat Bowen, who is known for her vibrant works with epoxy resin and her exploration of color—chromology.
Unique Painting Technique
The result of the collaboration was the development of a special painting technique called Chromatic Layered Finish. It involves applying multiple translucent layers of paint, allowing light to reveal the depth and movement of tones, creating a color-shifting effect. Moreover, the paint surface has a slight relief texture that can not only be seen but also felt to the touch.
The presented car uses a three-color palette: bright green, light blue, and dark blue. In the areas where they meet, an interesting circular interaction occurs, revealing new shades and transitions.
Luxurious Finishing Details
In addition to the exclusive paintwork, Project Chromology is distinguished by the use of emblems made from 24-carat gold. To ensure these details do not stand out from the overall appearance, their background is matched to the body color to achieve maximum harmony.
The car’s interior is also executed with special attention to detail: the seats are upholstered in black Alcantara with contrasting golden accents. The steering wheel is adorned with blue elements, and carbon fiber inserts are used in the trim. Inside, one can also notice gold details and a special McLaren plaque with Nat Bowen’s name, executed in a ‘drip’ paint style.

Limited Series for Clients
Unlike some other art cars, this McLaren 750S Project Chromology will be produced in series, but only for a limited circle of MSO clients. Each example will have a unique paint scheme inspired by themes from Nat Bowen’s works. Furthermore, buyers will receive an original artwork by the artist as a gift, making each car a true collectible item.
This project continues McLaren’s trend of creating exclusive, art-like automobiles where technology and design intertwine. Collaboration with contemporary artists allows the brand to explore new forms of expression and offer clients not just a means of transport, but a unique object carrying a piece of artistic intent. Such initiatives expand the boundaries of automotive design and emphasize its connection with other creative spheres.
