A New Feature in the Lucid Air That Hardly Anyone Will Use

2026 Lucid Air Update

The Lucid Air will gain access to the Tesla Supercharger network starting late July, however, it is not the best option for charging. A $220 adapter is required for connection, and the maximum charging speed is limited to 50 kW. This means that gaining 200 miles (322 km) of charge could take up to an hour.

Using standard CCS stations is much more efficient, as the Lucid Air supports charging speeds of up to 300 kW depending on the trim. Company representative Emad Dlala stated:

“Access to the Tesla Supercharger network is another important milestone”.

However, if alternatives are available, it is better to use them.

Technical Improvements

In addition to Supercharger access, the updated 2026 model has received an improved air conditioning compressor, which provides better cooling and lower noise levels. A charging cable set is now also included as standard, and 19-inch Aeronaut wheels are available as an option.

The $79,900 Touring trim has received higher-capacity batteries, increasing its range by 6% – to 431 miles (694 km). The Grand Touring version is now equipped with 20-way seats featuring heating, ventilation, and massage, making long journeys even more comfortable.

Pricing for the 2026 Lucid Air Models

Despite the technical updates, access to the Tesla Supercharger network appears to be more of a marketing move than a real advantage for Lucid Air owners. This is especially true given the limited charging speed and the availability of more efficient alternatives. The company, however, continues to emphasize comfort and range, which remains its main advantage in the electric vehicle market.
