Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng has announced the new G7 model, which is positioned as a competitor to the Tesla Model Y. The car is offered at a starting price of ¥195,800 (approximately $27,325), which is ¥67,700 ($9,448) cheaper than the Tesla. The G7 features a modern design with LED light strips, frameless mirrors, and optional 20-inch wheels.

The G7’s interior is executed in a minimalist style with a 15.6-inch screen that combines the instrument panel and multimedia system. Even the base trim includes:
The car offers three trim options with a range of 374 or 436 miles (according to the CLTC standard). All versions are equipped with a rear electric motor producing 292 hp, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5-6.6 seconds.
“The G7 is the world’s first AI-powered car with L3-level computational power” – stated Xpeng.
Among the innovative features are a driver assistance system with remote parking capability, a head-up display on the windshield, and a “car cinema” mode for watching movies.
The electric vehicle market in China continues to develop rapidly, and the emergence of models like the G7 demonstrates the growing competition between local and international brands. The fast charging is particularly impressive – up to 271 miles of range can be gained in 10 minutes, which could be a decisive advantage for many buyers.
