New Lexus ES Multimedia System Works Like a Tablet and Responds with a Chosen Gender Voice

New Lexus ES 2026 Multimedia System: How It Works

Lexus has introduced an updated infotainment system for the new generation of the ES sedan. The developers promise a more modern interface that rivals the convenience of solutions from other automakers.

Tablet-Like Interface

The new interface runs on the sedan’s 14-inch touchscreen. The menus resemble those of a tablet or smartphone. The system features a customizable home screen where owners can add desired widgets. A quick-access menu for frequently used functions has appeared in the top right corner.

Multimedia and Voice Assistant

The system supports SiriusXM with 360L, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Spotify is integrated directly into the infotainment system. The updated navigation can now be projected onto the digital instrument cluster.

Lexus’ voice assistant has been reconfigured: it responds faster and can handle more complex requests, including navigating to specific menu pages. Owners can also choose between a male and female voice—a first for the brand.

Charging and Energy Management

The fully electric ES 350e and ES 500e models feature a new EV Charge Management system. It allows setting charging schedules and limits. Navigation can display information about charging stations and plan routes based on the current battery level.

Digital Key and Connectivity

The digital key has been updated: it can now be shared with up to five additional drivers via a compatible digital wallet. NFC access continues to work for a limited time even if the phone battery dies.

In the US, all new 2026 Lexus ES models will come with AT&T 5G connectivity. The built-in Drive Recorder stores up to 90 one-minute clips in a continuous loop, recording the vehicle’s speed and location. Owners can view recordings on the multimedia screen and download them via USB.

2026 Lexus ES Pricing

The 2026 Lexus ES starts at $48,895 for the electric 350e version, $51,095 for the ES 350h hybrid, and $51,895 for the electric ES 500e.

The 2026 Lexus ES multimedia system update demonstrates the brand’s commitment to catching up with modern digital comfort standards. Integration of Spotify, flexible interface settings, and an improved voice assistant make the car more convenient for daily use. Special mention goes to the charging management system for electric vehicles, which simplifies trip planning. The built-in drive recorder also adds safety, though its limit of 90 clips may be insufficient for long journeys. Overall, the new ES becomes not just a car, but a full-fledged digital device on wheels.
