New Malfunction in Multimedia System Intensifies Wave of Ford Vehicle Recalls

Major Recall of Ford and Lincoln Vehicles in the USA

Ford has announced a recall of over 200,000 vehicles in the USA due to technical problems. Among them are malfunctions of the SYNC multimedia system, which can lead to failures in the rearview camera operation. In some cases, the screen may display a blank image while reversing or continue to show the picture even after shifting gears.

The problem has affected a wide range of models, including the Transit Connect, F-150, Mustang, Explorer, and others. To resolve the issue, Ford and Lincoln dealers are to replace the SYNC 3 system with an updated version.

Additional Recalls

In addition to the main recall, Ford also reported two smaller campaigns. The first concerns 171 Navigator and Expedition vehicles from the 2025 model year due to potential problems with the passenger airbag. The manufacturer stated:

The internal filter of the airbag may have incorrect thickness, which increases the pressure when the system deploys.

The second problem was found in five F-150 Lightning electric vehicles – it concerns the brake hose mounting, which may loosen. All owners will receive notifications about the need to visit dealerships to fix the malfunctions.

These events are occurring against the backdrop of a general increase in the number of recalls in the automotive industry. Ford already led in this indicator in the first half of the year, and new cases only confirm the trend. However, unlike some other manufacturers, the company is responding promptly to the identified problems and offering free solutions for customers.
