Updated Toyota Corolla Design for the Chinese Market
Toyota is preparing to present an updated version of the Corolla in China. The model has received a completely new front end, reminiscent of the Prius and RAV4 design. The car will be available with both gasoline and hybrid powertrains.
Exterior Changes
Changes in the design are immediately noticeable: the car has received C-shaped LED headlights, connected by a thin light strip. The updated bumper also has a smaller air intake and a more streamlined appearance. It can be noted that the main headlights are positioned lower than in previous versions.
Side and Rear Parts
The side view has remained almost unchanged, although the model may receive updated wheels. The rear also looks similar, but the hybrid version has lost the blue Toyota logo and received darker trim elements around the taillights.
Engines and Specifications
Buyers will have a choice between gasoline and hybrid variants. The hybrid is equipped with a 1.8-liter engine producing 97 hp and uses a lithium-nickel-cobalt-manganese battery. The maximum speed is 160 km/h, and fuel consumption can reach 4.13 l/100 km.
The gasoline version has a 2.0-liter engine with 169 hp and can reach speeds of up to 180 km/h, but its fuel efficiency will be lower.
Availability and Prospects
The official premiere of the updated Corolla will take place soon in China. It is not yet known whether these changes will be introduced in other markets, such as North America or Europe. For now, the updates remain exclusive to the Chinese market.
This update highlights the growing competition among sedans in China, where buyers are increasingly preferring environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies. Hybrid versions are likely to be particularly popular due to low fuel consumption and compliance with environmental standards.
