The new BMW M2 Competition differs from the standard BMW M2 coupe primarily by the engine. The three-liter turbo six-cylinder engine has been supplemented with parts from the older M4 model, which increased its power to 410 hp and its peak torque to 550 Nm. With a 6-speed manual transmission, acceleration to 100 takes 4.4 seconds, and with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, it takes 4.2 seconds.
The maximum speed can be limited to 250 or 280 km/h.

The BMW M2 Competition features an electronic rear differential and larger diameter brake discs (400 mm in the front and 380 mm in the rear). You can recognize the new BMW M2 by the black grille, slightly modified front bumper, and new 19-inch wheels. The interior features new sports seats.
