Volkswagen Passat B9 has significantly grown and will continue its life on the assembly line only as a 5-door wagon (sedan is a thing of the past). The novelty will be available for sale with petrol and diesel engines, as well as hybrid powertrains.

Design and Exterior

The new Passat B9 remains true to its design philosophy, but has undergone significant changes aimed at improving aerodynamics. The silhouette of the car remains elongated and slim, but with smoother and more aerodynamic lines. The front headlights and grille have become slightly narrower.

The rear LED lights with a light strip are similar to the design of the ID electric car lineup.

Space and Interior Design

One of the biggest advantages of the new Passat B9 is the interior space due to the increased length. The trunk now has a volume of 690 liters (or 1920 liters with the rear seats folded), which is 140 liters more than the previous version.

The car’s interior exceeds expectations in terms of quality and design. The central part features a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a large horizontal screen ranging from 12.9 to 15.0 inches, providing a modern interface for the driver. The transmission control is now located on the steering column, allowing for easier access.

Engines and Technical Specifications

The Passat B9 is equipped with a variety of engines, including the mild hybrid eTSI with 150 hp, petrol turbo engines 2.0 TSI with 204 hp and 265 hp, and three 2.0 TDI turbo diesel engines ranging from 122 hp to 193 hp. Plug-in hybrid versions are also available, with a larger battery and up to 100 km of electric range.
