During the filming of a commercial, the Chery Fulwin X3L crossover attempted to replicate the legendary ascent of the ‘Stairway to Heaven’ on the Great Wall of China, but the attempt ended in failure.
The car suddenly rolled backward from a steep section of the route and stopped only after colliding with the brickwork, damaging both the vehicle and a section of the historical structure.
This incident was immediately compared to the famous Land Rover drive: once, a Discovery confidently conquered the same stairs and became the hero of a successful commercial. Chery, however, failed to repeat the trick – instead of an impressive demonstration of capabilities, the result was a viral video with an undesirable ending.
