New BMW iX3 Covers 400 Miles and Anticipates Your Actions in Advance

BMW iX3: A New Step in Electric Vehicles

BMW is preparing the premiere of the new iX3 electric crossover, which will be the first model on the Neue Klasse platform. The car will receive revolutionary technologies, including new batteries with 20% higher energy density. This will allow the iX3 50 xDrive version to achieve a range of up to 400 miles according to the EPA standard.

Fast charging with a capacity of 400 kW will enable the restoration of over 217 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Furthermore, the model will get a “smart charging flap” that opens automatically when approaching a familiar charging station.

Innovative Cabin Technologies

The iX3’s cabin draws attention with a panoramic display stretching from pillar to pillar and a central screen with the BMW OS X operating system. The steering wheel with “shy technology” is equipped with buttons that only light up when the functions are available.

The new driver assistance system uses data processing 20 times faster than previous versions.

Key features include hands-free driving on the highway, automatic lane changing, and the Motorway & City Assistant system. The latter can independently navigate roundabouts and react to traffic lights, stopping at a red light and proceeding on green.

Production of the new model will begin at the end of this year. Given the technological leap, the iX3 could become a new benchmark in the premium electric vehicle segment. The combination of a long range, fast charging, and advanced driver assistance systems is particularly impressive, making it one of the most anticipated debuts of the year.
