BMW unexpectedly released the first official images of the new M2 CS during the opening of Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025. Although the photo quality is not perfect, they allow us to see key details. Full technical specifications will be revealed on May 27, but it is already clear that the car will receive more power and less weight.
The M2 CS design includes a massive spoiler, bronze wheels, and wider tires. The front end features an updated grille with a horizontal bar and aggressive air intakes. The rear bumper has also been redesigned for a more sporty look.
Technical upgrades
Despite doubts about the second-generation M2 due to its size, the car has proven its capability as a true sports coupe. The CS version is expected to be even more refined. The S58 engine is anticipated to increase power to 525 hp, which is even more than the M4 Competition (503 hp).

Engineers have also worked on reducing weight to improve the power-to-weight ratio. The only possible disappointment for enthusiasts may be the lack of a manual transmission—the M2 CS will likely only be available with an eight-speed automatic.
The second-generation M2 has already proven its worth in the market, and the CS version is set to solidify this success. Increased power, improved aerodynamics, and unique design make it one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Final details will be revealed next week, but it is already clear that BMW is preparing something special for sports car enthusiasts.
