In California, the new fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade was unveiled. The full-size SUV will go on sale in the third quarter of 2020, and it truly has something to impress.
Cadillac Escalade 2021 Design
In terms of exterior appearance – no revolutions, the SUV maintains the familiar angular design. The wide grille and thin lights remain. By the way, 22-inch wheels are now standard.
Like its siblings, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the Cadillac Escalade 2021 is built on a new platform. The car is still offered in the standard 5.36-meter version and the extended 5.76-meter ESV variant.
Cadillac Escalade 2021 Interior and Equipment
The interior traditionally combines leather and wood trim. The Cadillac Escalade 2021 features a virtual instrument cluster, a curved 16.9-inch touchscreen, and a separate display for the onboard computer on the left side of the steering wheel. The buttons on the central panel are touch-sensitive.
As before, 7- and 8-seat versions are offered. The new Cadillac Escalade has become significantly roomier inside. Even in the short version, the third row has 40% more space, and the trunk volume is equal to 722-3090 liters. In the ESV, with the rear seats folded, there is 3585 liters.
The base configuration of the Cadillac Escalade now includes 360-degree cameras, a 19-speaker audio system, and navigation with augmented reality.
Among the options are a night vision system, autopilot, a pair of 12.6-inch touchscreens for rear passengers, and a 36-speaker audio system with a microphone for communication with the third row.
Cadillac Escalade 2021 Specifications
The Cadillac Escalade 2021 retains the familiar 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 hp and a cylinder deactivation system. However, now the SUV can also be chosen with a 3-liter 277 hp turbo diesel, which is unexpected for the USA.
Both versions received a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive and are equipped with adaptive dampers. For the first time, the Cadillac Escalade has independent suspension on all wheels, and an air suspension system with adjustable ground clearance has been added to the options list.
