New BMW Electric Car May Appear Earlier Than Expected

BMW Prepares New Electric i3 and iM3 Series

BMW plans to introduce a new electric i3 model in 2025. It will be a sedan that has nothing in common with the previous compact i3 version. The model range will be quite broad, including a powerful iM3 with a potential output of over 700 hp.

According to the source ynguldyn, known for accurate previous data on BMW, iM3 production will begin in March 2027. Unlike the conventional M3, which is offered in several versions, the electric iM3 is currently planned only in one variant.

Technical details remain unknown, but the use of four electric motors for precise torque vectoring is possible.

Innovative Materials and Features

The new i3 series will become one of the first BMW models to use materials based on flax seeds. This composite has strength similar to carbon fiber but with 40% lower CO2 emissions during production. Standard equipment includes a head-up display and a panoramic roof.

Standard i3 versions will begin production in July 2026. The lineup is expected to include models with the indexes 20, 40, 50, and M60 xDrive. The latter will receive M adaptive suspension, M braking system, and a sports steering wheel.

Despite the active development of electric models, BMW continues to expand its range of offerings, including both affordable and high-performance versions. The use of eco-friendly materials could become a key advantage for customers seeking not only power but also sustainability.
