New MG S6 Electric Car Accidentally Revealed Ahead of Time

First Images of the New MG S6 EV

The first images of the new MG S6 electric crossover have appeared online, and interestingly, the source was not the manufacturer itself, but the Euro NCAP organization. The safety body unintentionally provided the world with an opportunity to see the future SUV before its official premiere.

Key Points About the Model

Design and Exterior

The manufacturer has not yet published official photos of the model, but its inclusion in the latest series of Euro NCAP crash tests has allowed for a fairly clear idea of the design, even though most images show the car in a damaged state.

Creating an SUV with an attractive appearance is not an easy task, but MG has managed quite successfully. The front end strongly resembles the smaller S5 model and has the same small radiator grille located at the very bottom of the bumper.

Furthermore, the car is equipped with LED daytime running lights and separate headlights embedded in triangular elements.

The rear also looks stylish, although the shape of the taillights and the light strip are reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz EQA, but with more complex light signals. Among other interesting details are the darkened bumper and the sharp diffuser.

Car Interior

There are no official images of the MG S6 interior yet, but the Euro NCAP crash tests allow for a glimpse of some details. Among the frames with airbag deployment, one can notice a square steering wheel, a large central multimedia system screen, and a projection display above the instrument panel.

Safety and Technical Specifications

In terms of safety, the MG S6 EV received a full five stars from Euro NCAP, scoring 92% for adult protection, 85% for child protection, 84% for vulnerable road user safety, and 78% for the driver assistance technology suite.

Although the report does not reveal details of the powertrain, it confirms plans to release both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions.

The S6 is likely to inherit the same single-motor rear-wheel drive design as the S5 model, with 228 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. The all-wheel drive version is expected to receive an additional motor at the front, creating a dual-motor configuration with balanced power and wider application.

Further Expectations

A full presentation of the model is expected soon, as MG representatives have already confirmed that the launch is scheduled for the end of November. This step could significantly strengthen the brand’s position in the electric vehicle market, especially in conditions of growing competition. Given the high safety ratings and potentially attractive design, the MG S6 could become one of the key products in its segment, aimed at meeting the needs of modern consumers who value environmental friendliness and innovation.
