New Xpeng P7 model: design and technical features
The Chinese automaker Xpeng has unveiled an updated version of its P7 sedan, previously codenamed E29. The first official images showcase a modern design with striking elements that set the model apart from other electric vehicles. The Y-shaped LED daytime running lights and a thin light strip on the front fascia particularly stand out.
The design was developed by Rafik Ferrag, who also worked on the first version of the P7. The car’s front end resembles some elements of the Lamborghini Revuelto, while the lighting graphics make it instantly recognizable. Additionally, the Xpeng logo on the front is also illuminated.
Technical specifications and expectations
According to reports, the new P7 may feature:
The interior is likely to include a large multimedia system screen and light-purple leather seats. The model is also expected to use a camera-based driver assistance system, omitting LiDAR technology found in other vehicles from the brand.
The full debut of the new model is scheduled for the third quarter of 2024 at the Guangzhou Auto Show. However, details may emerge earlier through Chinese media sources. The manufacturer currently refers to the model as the “next-gen P7,” but reports suggest the name “P7 Ultra” has been registered.
The updated sedan appears longer than the Tesla Model 3, with its dynamic silhouette accentuated by a fastback design and a retractable rear spoiler. The rear taillights echo the styling of the front lights, ensuring a harmonious appearance.
Despite the lack of official dimensions, it is already clear that Xpeng is focusing on premium design and advanced technical solutions. This model could be a significant step for the brand in its quest for leadership in the electric vehicle segment.
