Jeep’s New Grand Wagoneer Now Costs $23 Thousand Less, But Somehow More Too

Model Lineup Updates

Jeep introduced the updated Grand Wagoneer this morning, bringing a number of significant changes. One of the biggest is the simplification of the lineup, as the Wagoneer model has been completely removed.

This is a significant step, as the 2025 Wagoneer offered seven trims, while the Grand Wagoneer had four variants. While variety usually adds spice to life, in Jeep’s case it proved to be excessive.

Pricing and Standard Equipment

For the 2026 model year, the lineup starts with the base Grand Wagoneer at $62,145, excluding the destination charge of $2,595. This is significantly higher than its predecessor: the 2025 Wagoneer started at $59,945 and had a lower destination charge of $2,095.

Besides the new exterior look, the Grand Wagoneer features LED lighting, rain sensors, and likely 18-inch wheels. Also standard are a power liftgate, heated auto-dimming mirrors, and a remote start system.

Inside, the driver gets a heated leather-wrapped power steering wheel, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12-inch Uconnect5 infotainment system.

Comfort and Technology

The perforated Capri front seats feature 12-way power adjustment, heating, and ventilation. The second row is equipped with captain’s chairs, and the third row has folding seats.

Other benefits include wireless smartphone charging, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system. There is also an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a universal garage door opener.

Driver assistance systems include Active Driving Assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and blind-spot monitoring. These are complemented by active lane management, intersection assist, and front and rear park assist.

Additional Options and Engines

Several options are available, with the Upland off-road package standing out. It adds a two-speed transfer case, an electronic limited-slip differential, and the Quadra-Lift air suspension. Underbody protection, tow hooks, and 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires are also included.

The base model is offered in standard and long wheelbase versions, as well as with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. At the start of sales, it will be equipped with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine producing 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. A version with a powertrain that increases the driving range will appear later.

Limited Altitude and Summit Obsidian Trims

The Limited Altitude starts at $71,140 and is only available with all-wheel drive. It is based on the Limited trim, adding power-folding side mirrors, perforated Nappa leather seats, and second-row heating.

This version likely includes the Limited Altitude Appearance Package with black exterior accents, titanium elements, and 22-inch wheels. The interior uses black metallic trim.

The Summit Obsidian trim costs $93,390 and features a black roof, a three-section panoramic sunroof, and Quadra-Lift air suspension. The exterior is complemented by 22-inch wheels, gloss black accents, and adjustable roof rails.

The interior is equipped with 24-way power front seats with perforated Nappa leather, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, quad-zone automatic climate control, and a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system. There is also a head-up display, surround-view cameras, and a park assist system.

Grand Wagoneer $62,145 $65,145 $65,145 $68,145
Limited Altitude Not available $71,140 Not available $74,140
Summit Obsidian Not available $93,390 Not available $96,390

Changes in the pricing structure and trim lineup may affect the Grand Wagoneer’s competitiveness in the premium SUV market. On one hand, the increase in the base model’s cost might deter some buyers, but on the other hand, the increase in standard equipment and the introduction of new technologies might compensate for this effect. It is also worth considering that streamlining the lineup will allow Jeep to focus on key models, which could improve quality and service.
