The New G-Class Cabriolet with Rear Suicide Doors Has Lowered the Quality Bar

Just when it seems you’ve seen all possible modifications of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Mansory proves that there is always room for something more extravagant. We recently saw what is perhaps the most radical version of the G-Class from this tuner. Now the company has introduced an even more impressive model called Speranza.

The premiere took place at the Top Marques Monaco exhibition in Monte Carlo. This G-Wagen was converted into a cabriolet with rear suicide doors. If you dream of comfortable rides under the sun, attracting attention on the streets of Los Angeles, this version from Mansory is the perfect option.

Created as a unique specimen, the Speranza received an exclusive body kit that probably only causes surprise among Mercedes-Benz designers. The front end looks like a complex constructor set made of various elements, including six LED daytime running lights positioned diagonally on the lower air intakes.

The car was equipped with a new front bumper, a body-colored radiator grille, modified fenders, and a hood with pronounced relief. The look is completed by massive 24-inch forged wheels – smaller ones simply wouldn’t suit such a car.

The most impressive change is the absence of a roof. It was cut off along the line of the windshield. As in the Jeep Wrangler, there is a central pillar and a folding red soft top. It is unknown whether the roof is folded manually, but in the lowered state, it opens up a view for the passengers in the rear seats similar to the 2017 Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet.

For the interior, Mansory used carbon fiber inserts on the steering wheel, dashboard, pedals, center console, and doors. The seats and other surfaces are upholstered in white and red leather, reminiscent of a luxury lounge interior rather than a conventional SUV.

It wasn’t without a performance upgrade. The tuner installed larger turbines and a sport exhaust system, thanks to which the 4.0-liter biturbo V8 now produces 809 hp and 1150 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4 seconds, and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
