New Kia EV9 receives unexpected price cuts and other updates

Updates and changes in the 2026 Kia EV9

Kia has introduced an updated version of the EV9 electric SUV for the 2026 model year. The base price remains unchanged at $54,900, but some trim levels have become $2,000 cheaper. Among the new features are a slight increase in range and a special Nightfall Edition.

The new Nightfall Edition, based on the top-tier Land trim, costs an additional $1,500. It features glossy black exterior elements, including bumpers, mirrors, and roof rails. An exclusive Roadrider Brown color is also available. The interior includes black upholstery with a unique pattern and standard six-seat configuration.

Technical improvements

The range for different EV9 versions has increased: the Light Long Range now travels 305 miles instead of 304, while the GT-Line received the largest boost—from 270 to 280 miles. Additionally, the Land trim now features a Boost function that increases torque from 443 to 516 lb-ft.

Prices for certain trims have decreased: the Light Long Range now costs $57,900 instead of $59,900, and the GT-Line has dropped from $73,900 to $71,900. The EV9 offers two battery options—76.1 kWh and 99.8 kWh—with motor power ranging from 201 to 379 hp.

The updated EV9 continues to be one of the most technologically advanced electric SUVs on the market. The price cuts for select versions may make it even more attractive to buyers looking for space, comfort, and modern solutions in an electric vehicle.
