The company Hongqi is the oldest car manufacturer in China, known for its expensive executive cars for the party elite. Now, they have decided to explore a new direction and showcased the Hongqi S9 hypercar at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Chinese car impresses with its whimsical design featuring a huge rear wing and original LED headlights. The coupe’s doors lift upwards, and the body is fully carbon.
The interior trim combines Alcantara and carbon.
The steering wheel resembles a helm, and the instrument readings are displayed on a small screen.
It is known that the Chinese hypercar will receive a hybrid setup consisting of a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine and an electric motor. The total power will be 1400 hp, allowing it to accelerate to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds and reach speeds of up to 400 km/h. By the way, such dynamics are only claimed by the Tesla Roadster 2020.
Sales of the Hongqi S9 will begin in 2021, with a price tag of 2.2 million dollars.
