New Chrysler Concept: The Raised Minivan You Never Knew You Needed

Chrysler Unveils Pacifica Grizzly Peak Minivan Concept

Chrysler has officially revealed the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept minivan, which features increased off-road capability and special styling. This model is seen as a potential competitor to the Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition.

Crossovers have significantly impacted the popularity of minivans, so it’s no surprise that manufacturers have begun to give them features characteristic of off-road vehicles. A prime example is the Toyota Sienna Woodland Edition with all-wheel drive and a raised suspension.

Chrysler is now entering the fray with the all-new Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept. It’s one of the coolest vans in years and will celebrate its debut at Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, Colorado.

Prepared for Off-Road

The model is designed for travel and camper van enthusiasts. Its suspension is raised by 70 mm at the front and 64 mm at the rear. The 18-inch wheels with 31-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires are particularly noteworthy.

Designers successfully combined the Arktos matte paint with protective elements that mimic body cladding. A special bear emblem was also developed, which looks stylish and high-quality.

Functional Updates

The roof is fitted with a Rhino-Rack Pioneer platform with additional lighting and an ARB sliding awning. The equipment also includes a spare wheel, recovery boards, Mopar mud flaps, and yellow fog lights from Baja Designs.

The interior is executed in two colors with Katzkin leather seats and orange accents on the seat belts, stitching, and the sport steering wheel.

Space with Purpose

The third row of seats has been removed to create a flat floor platform, providing a convenient space for sleeping and storing gear. Additionally, a 115 V power outlet, organizers, and protective floor mats are provided.

The powertrain is the familiar 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 287 hp, which is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

Future of Series Production

Chrysler has not yet confirmed plans for the series production of the Grizzly Peak, but such a model could expand the brand’s range and attract new customers beyond traditional family buyers.

This concept demonstrates that minivans can be not only convenient family vehicles but also ready for adventures beyond paved roads. The increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and additional equipment make the Pacifica Grizzly Peak an interesting option for those who combine daily commuting with active recreation. Manufacturers should pay attention to such niches, especially given the growing popularity of campers and auto travel.
