New Renault Crossover Hides a Secret, and It’s Not Just Camouflage

The new Renault Boreal has been spotted by paparazzi ahead of its official presentation, which is scheduled for this year in Brazil.

Although the car is hidden under camouflage, it can be seen that it is developed on the Dacia Bigster platform.

This model will become an important part of Renault’s international strategy until 2027 and will be available in 70 markets worldwide.

Renault has officially announced its new C-segment SUV, and journalists have now managed to photograph this model during testing. Its world premiere will take place in Brazil, and subsequently, the car will go on sale in more than 70 countries outside Europe.

Despite the heavy camouflage, it is noticeable that this is an adapted version of the Dacia Bigster under the Renault brand. However, it is not just a change of logos – the model has received an original radiator grille with a large manufacturer’s emblem and an updated bumper with a wider air intake.

The side panels can be misleading due to the imitation of rear door handles. In fact, like the Bigster, the handles are hidden in the body pillars.

The car has received plastic body cladding, pronounced wheel arches, a modified rear bumper, and an original spoiler without a central cutout. New rear lights and an updated tailgate are also expected.

The interior remained inaccessible for review, but it will likely inherit the main features from the prototype. Among the expected elements are a minimalist design, a 10.1-inch multimedia system, and a digital instrument panel with a 7 or 10-inch diagonal.

Technical specifications have not been disclosed yet, but a similar model offers several powertrain options, including a 1.2-liter three-cylinder mild hybrid with 128 hp. A full hybrid version with a 1.8-liter engine and a total output of 153 hp is also available.
