Toyota Introduces Hybrid Version of Land Cruiser 300 Series
Toyota is expanding the Land Cruiser 300 Series lineup by adding a hybrid version. The new modification surpasses conventional gasoline and diesel variants in power. The car first appeared in the Middle East markets, but its arrival in other regions is expected.
Technical Features
The hybrid system combines a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with an electric motor. Together they produce 457 hp and 790 Nm of torque, making this version the most powerful in Land Cruiser history. The drivetrain is all-wheel drive, and the transmission is a 10-speed automatic.
The developers claim that the hybrid system is specifically adapted for difficult off-road conditions, ensuring smooth operation even on the most challenging terrain.
Although full technical specifications have not yet been disclosed, it is already known that the hybrid version will have a greater payload capacity compared to the diesel variant. However, its fuel tank is slightly smaller – 68 liters instead of 80 liters in the conventional gasoline model.
Exterior and Interior
The hybrid features an updated front bumper and a modified radiator grille in the VXR version. Special “457 TT” and “HEV” badges have appeared on the body, emphasizing the model’s hybrid status.
The cabin is equipped with a digital instrument panel with hybrid graphics and a 12.3-inch multimedia screen. There is also a power outlet for connecting electrical appliances in the luggage compartment.
Availability and Prices
The hybrid Land Cruiser can now be ordered in the UAE. The base VXR version starts from 389,900 dirhams (approximately $106,200), and the sporty GR-Sport modification starts from 409,900 dirhams ($111,600). The model is expected to appear in other regions, including Japan, by the first half of 2026.
This new product demonstrates how Toyota is gradually introducing hybrid technologies into its classic SUVs while maintaining their reliability and off-road capability. Given the growing demand for more environmentally friendly SUV versions, such initiatives could become key to maintaining the brand’s position in this segment.
