Cadillac introduces the most powerful Blackwing in history
Cadillac has officially introduced the special edition CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series ahead of the Miami Grand Prix. This is an “ultra-exclusive” version marking the brand’s entry into the pinnacle of motorsport.
Developed in close collaboration with Formula 1 and the International Automobile Federation, this limited edition model is “the most powerful Blackwing ever created by Cadillac.” Its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine has been tuned to deliver 685 horsepower (511 kW / 695 PS) and 673 lb-ft (911 Nm) of torque. This is an increase of 17 hp (13 kW / 17 PS) and 14 lb-ft (19 Nm) over the standard model.

The modest power increase is attributed to an upgraded supercharger developed jointly with GM Motorsports. The company did not reveal many details but noted it features a CNC-machined cover with the F1 logo.
Technical features and transmission
The engine is paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, and every model is equipped with the Precision Package. The latter includes a track-tuned chassis, carbon-ceramic brakes, and summer tires.
Exterior and interior design
Beyond the powertrain updates, the special edition features Midnight Stone Frost exterior paint with Carbon Flash Metallic wheels, paired with Harbor Gray Metallic brake calipers. Buyers also receive a carbon fiber body kit with a Switchblade Silver stripe, along with black badges and monochrome Cadillac crests. These are complemented by relatively understated FIA and F1 accents.
As for the Cadillac’s interior, we see black leather sport seats with silver stitching and piping. The seats are also notable for featuring embossed F1 logos on the headrests.
Other features include a 3D-printed medallion on the F1 shifter, “Cadillac Formula 1 Team” sill plates, and the FIA logo integrated into the carbon fiber on the center console. Buyers can also expect familiar equipment, including a 33-inch display.
Availability and price
The CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series will be offered in Canada and the United States, with production beginning later this year. Only 26 cars will be available, and they will likely carry a significant premium over the standard model, which starts at $98,900 before the $2,100 gas-guzzler tax and a $1,795 delivery fee.
This special edition is not just another limited series but a powerful marketing move symbolizing Cadillac’s ambitions in Formula 1. The limitation to 26 units will likely make this model instantly collectible, while the combination of the most powerful engine with a manual transmission emphasizes a focus on true enthusiasts who value purity of driving. It is worth noting that this approach sharply contrasts with modern trends toward electrification and automation, making this car a kind of “swan song” for the era of big displacement and manual gearboxes.
