Rolls-Royce presents unique Phantom Regatta
Rolls-Royce has unveiled the exclusive Phantom Regatta, a one-of-a-kind model. This special car will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Inspired by a nautical theme, it turned out to be longer than a Cadillac Escalade.
Many cars have been called “land yachts,” but this description fits the Rolls-Royce Phantom Regatta perfectly. This unique model pays homage to the racing yachts of England’s south coast. It is based on the extended Phantom Extended version, which measures 5982 mm in length.
Design and Exterior
Besides being nearly a foot longer than the Cadillac Escalade ESV, this ultra-luxurious flagship embodies a nautical theme. This is clearly visible from the outside: the Phantom features a stylish two-tone paint scheme combining Regatta Blue and English White. The hand-applied colors are executed in a way that resembles the line where a yacht’s hull meets the water.
Additionally, the car is equipped with 22-inch polished wheels, subtly hinting at the polished steel winches of racing yachts. The model also features numerous bright chrome accents.
Interior and Upholstery
The two-tone theme is more pronounced in the cabin: the driver’s seat is upholstered in Navy Blue leather. It is complemented by contrasting stitching and Grace White piping, as well as a two-tone steering wheel. White surrounds on the air vents and a hand-painted gallery named “Watercolour” complete the look. This oceanic artwork was created in-house using specially developed paints and a new blending technique that was perfected over two weeks on numerous test panels.
The rear passenger compartment features a reversed color scheme: Grace White seats with Navy Blue piping and contrasting stitching. The two individual seats are separated by a center console covered in beautiful chevron-patterned wood trim.
The nautical theme is present inside as well: the rear picnic tables are designed to resemble a yacht’s deck. Each one required approximately 120 hours to manufacture, combining 16 planks of Royal Walnut with thin strips of Black Bolivar.
Special Details and Technical Specifications
Completing the list of features are illuminated door panels and a bespoke Starlight Headliner. The latter consists of 1,307 fiber-optic “stars” that mimic the swirling tidal currents around the Isle of Wight.
The Phantom Regatta will be presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is likely powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V12 engine producing 563 hp (420 kW) and 900 Nm of torque. This allows the extended version to accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 5.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.
This car is yet another example of how Rolls-Royce transforms an automobile into a true work of art, where every detail, from color to materials, carries deep symbolism. Despite being a single unit, the Phantom Regatta demonstrates how far manufacturers can go in personalization, turning a vehicle into a unique artifact that reflects the tastes and passions of its owner. This approach not only underscores the brand’s status but also sets trends in the luxury industry, where individuality is valued above all else.
