New Commercial Off-Roader from Isuzu
Isuzu has introduced a special version of its flagship D-Max pickup, which is aimed at professional users. This model, named the V-Cross Commercial, combines durability and functionality with elements of comfort.
Model Features
Purpose and Target Audience
When you imagine a commercial mid-size cargo vehicle, it’s easy to picture something purely functional: unpainted bumpers, steel wheels, and an interior that values durability over comfort. However, not everyone engaged in serious work wants to do without certain conveniences, which is why Isuzu has introduced a full-fledged version of the D-Max V-Cross Commercial for Great Britain.
The new model is based on the flagship V-Cross trim but has been redesigned with the needs of professional users in mind. As Isuzu notes, it is designed for farmers, craftsmen, and builders who spend as much time on the worksite as they do on the road.
Exterior and Styling
The exterior mirrors the regular D-Max V-Cross, with bi-LED headlights, dark gray accents, and corresponding 18-inch alloy wheels. However, the Commercial version is distinguished by a lightweight canopy that protects the cargo compartment from weather conditions. Other features include a tow bar and protective body cladding.
Interior and Cabin Features
Despite the double cab, the interior features a two-seat layout. The space usually occupied by the rear seats has been converted into a secure cargo area.
Furthermore, the rear windows are tinted, and the front seats are protected with covers. Isuzu states that the conversion is permanent, ensuring the vehicle is registered as a commercial vehicle.
Standard Equipment
Standard equipment includes a 9-inch multimedia touchscreen, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an audio system with eight speakers, leather upholstery, heated seats, dual-zone climate control, an off-road driving mode, and a comprehensive suite of ADAS driver assistance systems.
Technical Specifications
No changes have been made to the chassis; the commercial version retains the 1-ton (2,204 lbs) payload capacity and 3.5-ton (7,716 lbs) towing capacity of the passenger version.
Power is provided by the familiar 1.9-liter turbo-diesel, the only engine offered in Great Britain. It produces 162 hp (121 kW / 164 PS) and 360 Nm (265.5 lb-ft) of torque, paired with an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with a locking rear differential. The more powerful 3.0-liter turbo-diesel remains unavailable for this market.
Price and Availability
The Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Commercial costs £41,995 ($56,500) before taxes, with the first deliveries to customers in Great Britain and Northern Ireland scheduled for November. For comparison, the base D-Max Utility starts from £27,755 ($37,300), while the passenger V-Cross costs £38,255 ($51,400).
This model demonstrates how manufacturers adapt their products to the needs of different markets, combining practicality with premium elements. It could become an attractive choice for those seeking reliable transport for work without sacrificing modern technology and comfort. Similar initiatives may contribute to expanding the brand’s presence in the commercial segment, especially in regions with high competition.
