The renowned American sculptor Daniel Arsham presented his new work. He took the new Porsche 911 Carrera as the basis.
The installation is part of the Future Relics project – the artist turns popular household items into sculptures. Moreover, quite unconventional ones.
Thus, the Porsche 911 Carrera was deliberately damaged.
The holes on the hood, wings, and sides are filled with rock.
The author’s idea is hard to grasp, so he explained it himself. Supposedly, this is how the Porsche 911 would look if it were suddenly covered by volcanic lava and then excavated a thousand years later, like the Italian Pompeii.
We are not sure the car would survive a volcanic eruption, as lava would easily melt any metal. But, as they say, he’s the artist, that’s how he sees it.
