New luxurious sedan from Huawei competes with Rolls-Royce in the market

Huawei introduced the Maextro S800 sedan last year, and now the company allows us to take a look inside its ultra-luxurious cabin. It is expected to be heavily inspired by BMW, Mercedes, and Rolls-Royce models.

Drivers sit behind an elegant two-spoke steering wheel and look at a ‘floating’ display that strongly resembles the MBUX Hyperscreen. There are no details about the dimensions, but the EQS has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch multimedia system, and a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger.

The exclusive cabin design continues elsewhere, featuring stylish metal speaker grilles inspired by Burmester setups. These are accompanied by familiar seat control buttons on the doors.

Other features include digital side mirror displays, dual wireless smartphone charging, and wood trim on the center console. Designers also gave the car a stylish rotary knob and metal accents. Additionally, buyers will find a luxurious combination of leather and suede-like material for upholstery.

While the cabin looks great, the rear passenger compartment is the main star of the show. It features two individual rear seats with adjustment and a footrest. The front passenger seat also slides back so you can relax and enjoy the ride.

The seats are separated by an elegant leather-wood console with retractable tables. There is also an elegant champagne flute holder and a retractable drawer. We can also expect a cooling compartment and an entertainment system for rear passengers.

High above, a starry headliner, inspired by a textbook, is accompanied by door-mounted displays similar to those found in the BMW 7-Series.

It is known that the luxurious vehicle will be launched later this year and will have a length of 215.7 inches (5,480 mm) with a wheelbase of 132.7 inches (3,370 mm). This makes the model 0.4 inches (10 mm) longer than the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, although its wheelbase is 1 inch (25 mm) shorter.

Reports suggest that the model is expected to be offered with an electric powertrain featuring a 94.4 kWh battery. This should provide a range on a single charge from 416 miles (670 km) to 436 miles (702 km).

There are also reports of work on an extended-range variant with a smaller 63.3 kWh battery. This is likely to offer an electric-only range from 160 miles (258 km) to 193 miles (311 km).

The price is reportedly starting at ¥1 million, equivalent to $137,230. This is not bad, considering that the Mercedes-Maybach S480 starts at ¥1.48 million ($203,100) in China.
