New Lexus Sedan Aims to Outpace Mercedes and BMW in the European Market

Lexus Introduces New ES for Europe

The Lexus ES has never been a primary choice for European sedan buyers, but the Japanese brand is making a serious bet on the new generation. After its global premiere in China, the model will debut in Europe, aiming to compete with the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes E-Class, and Audi A6.

The ES model appeared in the Lexus lineup back in 1989 but only reached Europe in the 2010s. Now, the company offers a completely redesigned car with updated technologies and design.

Updated Design and Technologies

The eighth-generation ES has undergone radical changes in its exterior. The front features slim LED headlights and a colored radiator grille. The electric versions look more minimalist, while the hybrid models have additional cooling vents.

The rear has received an LED light strip and a more aggressive design. The car’s dimensions have significantly increased—it is now 165 mm longer, providing more interior space.

Modern Interior and Cutting-Edge Technologies

The interior features a 14-inch multimedia system screen—the largest among all Lexus models. There is also a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. Improved sound insulation and higher-quality materials have been used to enhance comfort.

Lexus also offers a 17-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, touch-sensitive buttons that only appear when the car is turned on, and adjustable seats with an elevated level of comfort.

Hybrid and Electric Versions

The new ES is built on the updated TNGA-K platform, which is already used in other models of the brand. The car has received a new suspension and increased body rigidity.

Two hybrid options are available: the ES 300h (199 hp) and the ES 350h (244 hp). For the first time in the lineup, electric versions have appeared—the ES 350e (221 hp) and the more powerful ES 500e (338 hp) with all-wheel drive. The maximum range on a single charge is expected to reach 530 km.

Sales of the new Lexus ES in Europe will begin in spring 2026. Prices and detailed technical specifications will be announced closer to the sales launch. The new generation has every chance to become a serious competitor to European premium sedans, offering modern design, advanced technologies, and a variety of powertrain options.
