New Lexus Supercar Reveals the Most Detailed Interior Overview

Approaching Series Production

The Lexus LFR is gradually approaching series production, and photographers were able to capture a new prototype with an almost finished interior. Despite the camouflage wrap, the photos allow us to see the car’s elegant and minimalist cabin.

The driver sits behind a steering wheel with a flat bottom, equipped with paddle shifters and metal inserts. The latter feature the letter “L”, likely indicating affiliation with the Lexus brand. Also visible on the steering wheel are hexagonal control levers and a special sensor for the driver monitoring system.

The true star of the interior is the multimedia system, which appears to run on an updated version of the Lexus Interface. The system has familiar shortcuts on the left and a climate control display at the bottom. Below the display is a row of physical buttons, including temperature controls for the driver and passenger, as well as a volume knob.

The center console is adorned with a stylized housing with metal ribs and textured black panels. Upon closer inspection, one can notice horizontal air vents that appear from under the control panel.

The center console is covered in black fabric but has a special ramp-like design. At the front is a minimalist gear selector with a separate parking button. Behind the selector, two additional buttons are visible, whose purpose is currently difficult to determine.

The red Recaro seats deserve special attention, which appear to have a carbon fiber base. They resemble the seats presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but in this case, they are upholstered in Alcantara or microfiber instead of leather.

Also noticeable are the ergonomic door handles and vertical air vents at the edges of the dashboard. The prototype has an unusual cupholder that seems to encroach on the passenger space, but hopefully, this detail will not carry over to the production version.

Lexus has not yet revealed details about the LFR, but photographers recently captured prototypes with three different aerodynamic configurations. One of them is likely standard, while the others have track packages of varying degrees of extremeness.

Powertrain

Details about the powertrain remain unknown, but rumors suggest the car will receive a hybrid version with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. According to some reports, the total power output could reach around 900 hp, but this information requires confirmation.

The latest prototype testing indicates an active phase of preparation for series production. The various aerodynamic configurations may indicate the presence of multiple model versions, which is typical for modern sports cars. The use of carbon Recaro seats and a minimalist interior design emphasizes the focus on the driver’s experience and high dynamic qualities. The hybrid powertrain, if the rumors are confirmed, combines traditional V8 power with modern trends in sustainability.
